Meet your Pastor!Pastor Tim Buchanan and his wife, PamPam and Tim Buchanan both had the privilege of being raised in Christian homes and were taught the Gospel and to serve the Lord through the local church. Both accepted Christ as their personal Lord and Savior as children. Their parents modeled spiritual growth and maturity which played a very large part in their lives. Pam and Tim met in High School and married some years later in 1976. Tim served as the youth pastor of a large Bible Church in Texas for four years. Pam has always had a very active role in his ministry wherever the Lord called them. Then in 1986, the Lord led them to serve as rural missionaries with Village Missions. Their first assignment was in the Sand Hills of Nebraska where they learned how to brand cattle and mend fences in order to minister to the ranching community where they lived. Next, the Lord moved them to the oil fields of northeast Wyoming where they found new ways to connect with people: Tim and Pam both served on the Volunteer Fire Department and Pam was an EMT. Tim was raised in Texas (hence the accent) and attended Dallas Bible College for three years and finished his Bachelors of Science at Colorado Christian University in 1989. Pam was raised in Iowa and completed her studies AIC in Davenport Iowa. Tim has always had a heart for leadership and earned his MBA from Regis University. He loves to teach and spend time with unchurched people which is why he now teaches part-time in the Regis University Graduate School of Professional Studies. Tim hopes one day to earn his doctorate in Christian Leadership. They have two adult children who are both married and 2 grandchildren. Since 1996, the Buchanans have served as the pastor and wife of Spring Valley Chapel. They came here at a critical time in the life of the church. Their goal has always been to have the Bible proclaimed and people to come to Christ. Pam and Tim feel strongly that people should grow in their relationship with Christ and not just be spectators of the faith. Tim loves to disciple men and see them become active leaders in the home and church. Pam has continued her service by playing the piano in worship and leading women’s Bible Studies. |
