Our New Church!

For many years the church has prayed about its own facility but could not afford the 35 minimum acres required by Douglas County zoning.  Several years ago Federal law changed that requirement and we began to pray for a piece of land to buy.  Three weeks before Easter in 2005, 14 acres of land went up for sale at the corner of Greenland Road and Hwy 83 in Douglas County.  The asking price was $160,000.  We had $25,000 in our building fund and by faith we put a contract on the property.

The closing was to be in three weeks leaving us little time to arrange financing.  The Lord intervened and the land owner agreed to a 10 year owner financing.  When we went to the closing in three weeks, our $25,000 had grown to $120,000 for a down payment and the remaining $40,000 was paid off in 9 months.  With the land paid for, we began to plan for a building.

In 2006, with the help of a group of people in the church, we prayed, worked, and studied to come up with a building design.  Our goal was to build something that could not only serve as our church home, but also as a facility for the community to use for civic and personal purposes.   We have now finished that process and are praying for the Lord to provide the $850,000 we will need to build our new church home.
